Mohamed Ouhemmou oversees the global auditing and factory inspection activities at Eurovent, Europe’s leading industry association for Indoor Climate, Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies. In this role, he provides expert guidance on EU policies, technical standards, and regulatory developments affecting the HVACR industry.
With a strong engineering background and extensive experience of 18 years+ in HVAC-R, Mohamed works closely with manufacturers, standardization bodies, and public authorities. His areas of focus include energy efficiency, ecodesign, market surveillance, and sustainability-related regulations. He plays a key role in ensuring that the voice of the industry is reflected in the European regulatory landscape.
At Eurovent, Mohamed contributes also to the coordination of technical committees and working groups, helping members navigate complex compliance frameworks and prepare for future regulatory changes.

As the pharmaceutical industry's requirements for hygienic environments become increasingly stringent, ensuring the safety of production processes and product quality has become a core concern of the industry. Faced with this challenge, it is particularly important to establish a set of clear and globally applicable standards for central air handling equipment. Such standards provide clear rules to manufacturers regarding how equipment should be designed & manufactured to ensure hygienic operation in real-world scenarios, whilst also providing purchasers and other stakeholders with a convenient measure to assess the conformance of a manufacturer’s products in alignment with their facility’s needs. Against this background, HUBER & RANNER has been an earlier adopter of Eurovent’s hygienic air handling unit (HAHU) certification programme, becoming the first manufacturer in China to obtain the most rigorous 3-star certification level, suitable for pharmaceutical, food and cleanroom facilities. This presentation will introduce Eurovent’s certification programme and explore the practical value it brings to all participants in the pharmaceutical industry chain. The talk will be conducted in a bilingual format with English and accompanying Chinese translation.
